KINGSTON UNIVERSITY – KINGSTON HILL CAMPUS
New, valuable social spaces at the heart of the Kingston Hill Campus were made possible through the demolition of low quality buildings. In their place we created two levels of new landscape with a range of social and study spaces and seating immersed in biodiverse and ornamental planting.
The aim was to support the existing biodiversity on site, including bats, and encourage more wildlife to thrive alongside students in the heart of the campus.
An ornamental raingarden, meadow-planted swales, permeable paving and our flavour of Stockholm-style structural SuDS tree pits effectively manages runoff whilst the combination of planting typologies set within the structural diversity of the SuDS landscape creates valuable habitat for wildlife.
