Kevin Barton FLI
Managing Director
Kevin is a Fellow of the Landscape Institute (FLI), a Design Council Specialist Expert and was voted Susdrain SuDS Champion 2022.
He leads our busy team and engenders a particular emphasis on community-focussed, sustainable and climate resilient design. He obsessively enjoys creative problem-solving and finding innovative solutions, and has great skill in bringing others together to reveal each project’s most constructive and multi-beneficial design solution.
As well as presenting at conferences and guest lecturing in the UK and overseas, he leads our SuDS Masterclasses programme, provides specialist training through CIRIA and directly to clients such as councils and environmental charities.
In his spare time, Kevin is a super-proud dad of two, keen cyclist, bike builder, mountain backpacker, bikepacker, canoeist, photographer, maker, tinkerer and dark chocolate enthusiast.

Bob Bray
Founding Director
Bob has practiced as a landscape architect for over 40 years specialising in biodiverse and sustainable landscapes. He has a life-long interest in aquatic environments, wildlife and botany, spending part of his early career developing a management strategy for amphibian re-introduction on opencast mining sites. An inspirational trip to the US in the early days of SuDS design led to Bob becoming a pioneer in the field in the UK, delivering a tremendous number and range of innovative SuDS projects.
Bob continues to work part-time, delivering training and consultancy in the office.
When not being passionate about SuDS he is a keen gardener, plant collector and folk singer.

Anwen Victory
Associate Landscape Architect
Her background in fine art and passion for nature and environmental sustainability combine to underpin her work, at the convergence of art and science.
Anwen has 15 years’ experience practicing Landscape Architecture and Urban Design in the UK. She has wide ranging project experience from masterplanning green infrastructure for major new settlements to city centre regeneration, social housing, schools, universities, and hospitals, at all project stages.
She has lectured at degree level in landscape design, leading modules delivered to undergraduate and post graduate cohorts.

Martin Hunter
Associate Director
Martin is a Chartered member of the Landscape Institute, with 12 years working experience on a broad range of landscape projects. He has a wealth of knowledge in landscape construction and a keen eye for elegant technical detailing.
Martin has brilliant organisational skills and plays a key role driving forward studio structures and systems.
Martin enjoys gardening, food-growing, hunting, fishing and woodwork.

Cecily Lai
Studio Manager

Judith Puckmayr
Senior Landscape Architect
Judith has been working as a Landscape Architect for over 20 years in the UK and Austria, designing with water from the start of her career. Judith’s creativity paired with her extensive knowledge in SuDS calculations, equip her to design imaginative, playful solutions that are also resilience and highly functional.
Judith is also a talented and engaging teacher and regularly delivers our SuDS Masterclasses as well as training for Local Authorities, CIRIA and Transport for London.
She loves walking and dance, and leads guided meditation classes in Stroud.

Helen Saunders
Senior Landscape Architect
Helen is a Chartered Landscape Architect with a wealth of experience in residential and public realm projects. She has valuable experience in community design and an incredible ability to keep various project plates spinning at once.
Helen is a keen long-distance runner and part of a running club, amateur DIY enthusiast and the studio snack queen.

Cat Thomas
Senior Landscape Architect
Cat is a Chartered Landscape Architect, coming to landscape with a background in fine art and the heritage estates sector. She has a wide range of experience in residential, public realm, community and commercial projects, from early stages through to completion.
She loves the creative potential of concept design stages, and pulling exciting concept threads through into thoughtful detailed designs. She is particularly focused on how climate-resilient landscapes can connect people meaningfully to nature, even in the city.
In her spare time Cat can usually be found watching birds and beasties at her allotment, exploring rewilding projects, or researching local history.

Grace Ruddick
Landscape Architect
Grace has practiced Landscape Architecture in a range of studios in the UK and abroad. She has a particular passion for community-led and play design. At RBA, she has developed her construction detailing skills and enjoys running playful, interactive engagement days for our school projects and the process of collecting information in innovative styles and games and then translating findings into her landscape work.
Outside of work, Grace also works on commission as an oil and acrylic landscape painter and runs ad-hock art workshops for friends. She enjoys hiking, netball, swimming and playing football with her nephews.

Matt Soar
Landscape Architect
Before studying for his Masters in Landscape Architecture, Matt worked in Graphic Design and data analysis. Here he developed a keen eye for detail and visual communication. Matt has now gained a broad experience of end to end design working on small residential schemes through to large masterplanning projects.
Time spent working and travelling abroad inspired Matt to retrain in Landscape Architecture with a fascination of the beauty and diversity of landscapes.
At weekends you will find Matt out running trails with ambitions to enter into ultra-marathons in the near future.

Nick Chandler
Landscape Architect
Nick is qualified in both Landscape Architecture and Ecology and has worked as a Landscape Architect for several years. Earlier in his career, he worked globally on conservation and ecological projects before moving into consultancy. Nick retrained in Landscape Architecture with the aim of creating spaces that maximise opportunities for biodiversity whilst delivering sustainable benefits for communities. During his studies, he worked in a plant nursery, developing skills as a plantsman that he brings to the studio through planting design. Outside work, Nick enjoys spending time outdoors, birdwatching, visiting gardens nationwide, and training at his local CrossFit box.
